=== Route ===

The routes in a PBX handle the in- and outgoing traffic to the public telephone system. It consists of a number of lines or channels of the same type. 

The number of lines or channels determine the capacity of the route, and hence the number of simultaneous calls. The more channels, the better the capacity.
