Permissions
Permissions can be set to control what data and functionality the user can access. All permissions are connected to one or more roles. For the user to be able to have access to a specific function, he/she must have at least one of the roles this function is connected to. You can assign a role to a user, but still choose to only give the user access to certain functions within this role, e.g. only a couple of the available reports.
Custom roles can be used to collect functions that you want a group of users to have access to, and that are normally available under different roles. That way, you only have to assign one role to the users.
Permissions can be set on main groups or specific organization groups, to control what data the user should be able to access.
Permissions can be customized for an individual user, but an easy way to give the same permissions to more than one user is to use permission templates.
The permissions are set in Application Security > User permissions > Search user.
