PBX
PBX (Private Branch eXchange) is a telephone exchange, a private telephone network used within a company/organization.
PBXs make connections among the internal telephones and also connect them to the public switched telephone network (PSTN) through via lines for external calls.
The general term extension is used to refer to any end point in the PBX.
