News
In the News web part, the latest information posted by a system administrator is shown to the users as short texts and links.
The news text can be made clickable with an URL. The URL can be opened in a separate window or in the same window as the start page. To be able to add, delete and edit news, you have to have the Application Maintenance role.
How to - Add the News Web Part to the Start Page
- Go to the manage web parts page for more information on how to add the news web part to the start page
 
How to - Add News
- Expand the edit news field by clicking expand 
- The field for editing opens
 
 - Add news by clicking add  
- A news section is shown
 
 - Enter the news text in the text box
 - If you want the text to link to a web page, enter the web address in the URL field
 - Enter the date for the news (this also defines the sorting order in the web part, most recent on top)
 - Enter the target for the URL:
- If you want the URL to be opened in a separate window, type ”_blank” (note the underscore)
 - If you want the URL to be opened in the same window, the field should be empty
 
 - Click save  

 
How to - Edit News
- Expand the edit news field by clicking expand 
- The field for editing opens
 
 - Find the news you want to edit by scrolling
 - Click edit
 - Edit where needed
 - Click save
