News

In the News web part, the latest information posted by a system administrator is shown to the users as short texts and links.

The news text can be made clickable with an URL. The URL can be opened in a separate window or in the same window as the start page. To be able to add, delete and edit news, you have to have the Application Maintenance role.


How to - Add the News Web Part to the Start Page

  1. Go to the manage web parts page for more information on how to add the news web part to the start page


How to - Add News

  1. Expand the edit news field by clicking expand Icon Expand.png
    • The field for editing opens
  2. Add news by clicking add Icon Add.png
    • A news section is shown
  3. Enter the news text in the text box
  4. If you want the text to link to a web page, enter the web address in the URL field
  5. Enter the date for the news (this also defines the sorting order in the web part, most recent on top)
  6. Enter the target for the URL:
    • If you want the URL to be opened in a separate window, type ”_blank” (note the underscore)
    • If you want the URL to be opened in the same window, the field should be empty
  7. Click save Icon Save.png


How to - Edit News

  1. Expand the edit news field by clicking expand Icon Expand.png
    • The field for editing opens
  2. Find the news you want to edit by scrolling
  3. Click edit
  4. Edit where needed
  5. Click save

  1. Expand the edit news field by clicking expand Icon Expand.png
    • The field for editing opens
  2. Find the news you want to delete by scrolling
  3. Click delete
