Services
Services deal with costs to be invoiced to a cost center that are not regular traffic costs. Examples of services are recurring subscription fees, one-time charges, and equipment or - services.
Services defined in Pro 9 are available in all main groups. Services have a default price of 0,00 that is available for all main groups and it is also optional to put a specified price per main group. If a service is missing price for the specified main group, the default price is displayed.
If a service has not been booked, it is possible to remove it completely. Services that have been booked at least once, on the other hand, cannot be removed (they are needed for history). But it is possible to inactivate services to prevent them from being bookable. Inactive services are not available when doing bookings, but the history is preserved.
It is possible to remove service bookings. Once removed, bookings cannot be restored. When a booking is removed, all subscription services are automatically set to end as of the last day of the latest aggregated period. All bookings that start after the last day in the latest aggregated period will be removed completely.
Note: Normally most recurring services can be automatically booked on objects via a daily AD/HR integration, decreasing the time spent on manual administration. This is used by mapping the file text entered to the service to a specific text in the AD/HR system for each user. There is a system setting (Day by day billing) managing how the subscription costs are to be treated when a user/object changes organization group in the middle of a period. Either as a split by the actual change date, or that the cost center having the service the last day of the period is being billed for it.
