Traffic Categories

The Traffic categories view lets you sort the traffic types into traffic categories. The traffic categories are used in reports and in administration of price lists.

To each traffic category you connect a number of traffic types. A traffic type can only belong to one traffic category and also must belong to one traffic category.


How to - Show Traffic Categories

  1. Click on the role Invoicing or the role Traffic Monitoring in the navigation menu
  2. Click Dial plan > Manage traffic categories
    • A list of available traffic categories is displayed


How to - Create a New Traffic Category

  1. Click on add Icon Add.png to create a new traffic category
  2. Enter a name for the new traffic category
  3. Click on save Icon Save.png
    • The new traffic category is displayed in the table


Note: When creating a new traffic category, it will by default be connected to the account with the lowest account number. If using accounts, ensure that the new traffic category is connected to the correct account in the account view.


How to - Add Traffic Types to the Traffic Category

  1. Click on the name of the traffic category you want to edit
    • The Edit categories view is displayed
    • There are also two expandable fields:
      • The field Included traffic types is empty for new traffic categories
      • The field Add traffic types is used to add call types to a traffic category
  2. Expand Add traffic types by clicking on expand Icon Expand.png
    • All traffic types are always already placed in a traffic category
  3. Select a traffic category to choose traffic types from in the menu
    • The traffic types in the selected traffic category are displayed (the list may span many pages)
  4. Select the traffic types to include in the traffic category by checking the corresponding boxes
  5. Click on add
  6. Repeat step 3 to 5 to add more traffic types to the traffic category


How to - Delete a Traffic Category

  1. Check the box for each traffic category you want to delete
  2. Click the icon Icon Links.png to open the action menu in the toolbar above the table, and select delete
    • The traffic category is immediately deleted


Note: You can only remove empty traffic categories.
