Mobile Simulation
Mobile simulations are used to compare different mobile phone price plans to each other based on the actual call and data traffic. You can both compare different price plans from the same mobile operator and price plans from different mobile operators. The result is presented with information about how much you could save per mobile phone or in total by changing to the new price plan.
You can select for which persons you want to simulate the cost, for you to be able to find out if it would be profitable to use different subscriptions for e.g. departments with call patterns that are very different.
The mobile simulation and the filtering function needs information about the current price plan for the mobile phones. Therefore, there is an attribute template used for this function so that the current price plan can be assigned to each mobile phone. Read more about how to add the mobile simulation attribute template.
How to - Show Mobile Simulation
- Click on the role Invoicing in the navigation tree
- Click on Simulations > Mobile simulation
How to - Prepare for Simulating Mobile Costs
- Start with adding price plan content
- Create price plans using that content
- Create the attribute Price plan in Application Maintenance > Attributes
- Set permissions on the attribute PricePlanGroup to be able to see it and define it for the objects
- Define the type of price plan for each mobile phone object either manually or by an import:
How to - Simulate Mobile Costs
- Select in what currency you want to compare the price plans
- Only price plans with that currency are then available for comparison
- Select the price plans you want to compare and move them to the box to the right
- Click refresh
in the price plan section to show the selected price plans in the table
- Select a main group
- Select a start period, i.e. the first period in the time period you want to use data from as a base for the comparison
- Select an end period, i.e. the last period in the time period you want to use data from as a base for the comparison
- Ensure to use data that is representative for the normal consumption, e.g. don't use data from the vacation period
- Define the minimum savings to propose changing
- Price plans will not be shown if they give savings per object that is less than the given value for the selected time period
- Note: This option only affects the result if you select to propose changing "per object"
- Define if the simulation should propose changing per object or for all objects with the propose changing menu
- With the filter on object with the following price plans option, define which of the existing price plans you want to sort on
- Only objects with this type of price plan is then available to choose from
- Choose how you want to make your selection
- To use a bag filter:
- Check the bag filter box
- Select bags:
- To select organization groups on the hierarchal organization structure:
- Ensure the bag filter box is unchecked
- Select an organization level
- Select organization groups:
- Select the objects you want to simulate on and move them to the box to the right
- To use a bag filter:
- Click run simulation button
How to - Interpret the Mobile Simulation Results
Simulation For All Objects
The result from the simulation for all objects is shown with the following information:
The graph shows the suggested total cost for the selected objects and amount of periods.
- Operators - Lists the current and the suggested price plan for the selected objects
- Monthly fee - Lists the monthly fee added
- Price plan content - Lists the added price plan content and cost per price plan
- Total (Currency) - Stated the total price for the current price plan in comparison with the suggested price plan
- Current operators - Lists the price plans that are currently in use for the selected objects
- Total cost current operators - States the total cost for the selected object for the selected periods
- Number of price plans - States the number of the selected objects that are connected to the price plan
- Price plan contents - Expand the row (by clicking the plus sign) to see the different types of price plan content
- Diff. from current - States the difference in cost between the current price plan and the new price plan
Simulation Per Object
The result from the simulation per object is shown with the following information:
- Object - The object the simulation concerns, expand the row (by clicking the plus sign) to see the different types of price plan content
- Current plan - The currently used price plan for the object
- Current cost - The total cost for the object for the selected period when using the currently used price plan
- Suggested plan - The price plan that gives the lowest cost for the object
- Suggested cost - The total cost for that object for the selected period if you change to the suggested price plan
- Total Savings - How much you save during the selected period by using the suggested price plan instead of the current price plan
