Edit Object

In the Edit object view you can add new objects or edit settings for existing objects.

How to - Show the Edit Object View

  1. Click on the role Organization Management in the navigation tree
  2. Click Objects > Create new object
    - or -
  3. Search for an object in the main search view and click the name of the object you want to edit
    • The Edit object view opens

How to - Enter Settings for New Objects

If objects are imported from an external register (Pro 9 is not master), new objects should be created there.

  1. Select an object type from the menu
  2. Enter an object name (such as the extension number or device description)
  3. Enter any info (e.g. the name of the person using the extension)
  4. Select a node (such as a PBX) to associate the new object with
  5. Select a main group to associate the new object with
  6. Select an organization group to associate the new object with:
    1. Enter the name (or part of the name) of the group in the search field
      • The menu will automatically update based on your search
    2. Select an organization group in the menu
  7. If the object is to be associated with a person:
    1. Enter the name (or part of the name) of the person in the search field
      • The menu will automatically update based on your search
    2. Select a person in the menu
  8. Default value in object start date is today's date, you can select an earlier date in active period (ongoing period) or set a future date for activation later
    • If you want to set an earlier date the closed period have to be opened and reaggregated, read more about periods
  9. Check the box to indicate if Pro 9 is master or if the information is to be imported from an external register
  10. Check the box to define the object as MEX (only available for extension objects)
    • In this case, also define the cell phone number in the field that shows up when you check the box
  11. Define any available attributes
  12. Click save

Note: If there are mandatory attribute fields the save button is not active until attribute is entered.

How to - Edit an Object

If objects are imported from an external register (Pro 9 is not master), changes should be carried out externally.

  1. If you want to change the object’s general information:
    1. Change or add relevant information in the Object name and Info fields. The object type and node is not editable
    2. Check the box to indicate if Pro 9 is Master or if the information is to be imported from an external register
    3. MEX
      1. Check the box to indicate if the object is a MEX (only available for extension objects)
        • In this case, also define the cell phone number in the field that shows up when you check the box
        - or -
      2. Uncheck the box to disconnect a MEX
        • Check the keep current organization group if you want to keep current organization group
        • Check the keep current person if you want to keep current person connected
        • If you want to change organization group and/or person connection, uncheck the box and select a new value in the dropdown-lists
        • It is also possible to search for a specific value, enter the name (or part of the name) of the group/person in the search field
        • The menu will automatically update based on your search
        • Select an group/person in the menu
    4. Click save
  2. If you want to change the attribute values:
    1. Change the values of the fields in the Attribute section as appropriate
    2. Click save

How to - Delete an Object

  1. Click on Delete
    • The Delete confirmation popup is displayed
  2. Press Yes if you want to delete

Note: Only objects without history can be deleted.
